Feed is starting to get good. First when I read it I was like, "I don't like this book. I only read the first few pages and it seemed stupid." Now it's getting to the good parts.

Prompt #1
What is it like on the moon? Why is it a popular destination for young people?
The moon in the book,"... full of old broken shit, like domes nobody's using anymore and wrappers and claws"(4). Titus the main character and narrator, said the moon gets boring after a while because he and his friends have been there so many times to think it is a cool place, but they are there for spring break...? On the moon there are hotels, clubs, and "fun" places. There are no gravity on the moon but there are some places on the moon that there are some earth gravity.
The moon is a popular destination for young people because I think it is a far enough place to get away from all the annoying people and places on earth. It is popular because they already know where most of the good places to go to have fun are and they are used to going to moon, like I am when I want to have fun. I will always say "We should go hang out at Vally Fair", but we all know that we have been there like a 'million' times but I don't know why we still want to go there to have fun. Maybe because we are used to the place and we know where are the rides, food, and game places are and also if we want to go to another new place someone would have to look up the place, the direction, where to meet at the place, and all these many complicated things to do when you can just go to a place you know where it is. So there's no point of going anywhere else.

Prompt #2
The girls have to change their hair frequently because the styles change. What does this statement tell us about trends in the novel?
This statement tells us that the people in the book always have to be on top of the newest and latest trends. It is because of the Feed. The Feed is transferring them all these different advertisement through their heads that they can't even think about any thing else. So, the girls are reeled in from those ads. Maybe the ads are 'suppose' to make them look 'pretty', so every time a new style come out they just have to get it. Having the newest and latest trends are also like the real people in reality. People in reality are reeled in by the media. They advertise things that we need and that's good but then they advertise things we want which is also good but it can cause big and bad things to happen. I can't really explain this but it happens. The media advertise things to make us want to buy more things and by buying more things, they get a lot of money from it. What it tells us about the trends in the book is that if they are not on top of the new things than they are not 'cool'. By getting the newest and latest trends, it makes them feel that they are included. They feel that they are in the trends with everyone else. If they are not in with the trends then people notice and say,"What's that she wearing? It looks so ugly...". For example in the book, Link, one of Titus's friend who is rich, and is "butt-ass ugly", was like, "What the hell's she wearing" (21). Wool was what that girl, Violet, was wearing. Link, I guess didn't even know what wool was. It is because wool wasn't 'in'. It is because the trends are different.
****I got this video from YOUTUBE.com. This video is of the 2009 look trends. In this video there are a whole bunch of models and their fashion designers/make-up artists. They are saying that this different shade of blue powder is best for this skin and looks better or this other type of make-up makes you look beautiful...

Prompt #3
Feed begins on a Friday, when out of boredom, a group of adolescents decide to spend Spring Break on the Moon at Ricochet Lounge. In what ways does this Spring Break compare with what you envision when you think of Spring Break (a major reason for going to the Moon was to go dancing)?
When I think of Spring Break, I think of the sun, hot, water, fun , outside, family and friends... But compare to Feed, the Moon is the best place to spend time on Spring Break. When I am on Spring Break, I'll be outside in the sun playing volleyball, football, basketball, going on picnic, and doing other fun things outside. In the book, Titus and his friends go to the Moon to go "dancing"...? Why would they go to the Moon to dance when they can do it on Earth and party with their families and friends. Titus and his friends' way of having fun on Spring Break sounded so boring. It didn't really sound all that great. They tried to get into a college party, which they didn't even get in. They tried to break in to a minibar to have fun. They don't even need those things to have fun. If they can think of good and fun things to do, then they won't even have to go through all that trouble trying to break a minibar and trying to look cool to get into a college party. I think of Spring Break on EARTH and NOT on the Moon. What they did on their Spring Break was doing some crazy things, like slamming into each other.
